Artisanal Celtic Sea Salt

Unprocessed, naturally pure and rich in minerals

Celtic sea salt, also known as sel gris, has been harvested for centuries from the salt marshes of Brittany in France. Natural evaporation in clay basins produces an unrefined sea salt with a distinctive grey colour and a rich mineral profile.

The salt is harvested by hand, so it keeps its pure flavour and valuable minerals.

Perfect for everyday cooking and for finishing your dishes.

Where our Celtic Sea Salt comes from

From sea to grain

Sun, wind and one pair of hands

No machines, no additives: just the sea, the weather and the craft of the paludier.

The tide

At high tide, Atlantic seawater flows into the salt marshes through a fine network of channels.

Breizh Import · importer since 2004

One family, two brothers and the sea

It began with a phone call from salt farmer Patrick Pichon in Batz-sur-Mer to his brother Pascal in the Netherlands. Twenty years on, our salt is found in shops and kitchens across the Netherlands, still harvested by hand by our paludiers in Guérande and still imported by the same family.
